My Outdoor Shower Kicks Butt!!

2009 July 14

I have to tell you, my outdoor shower is the 8th Wonder of the World! When my husband first mentioned having one, I pooh-poohed the idea as an extravagance. Well, not any more!!

My outdoor shower is red cedar painted with Cabot's Silver Gray Weathering Stain.

If you love the out of doors and have an area that will accommodate one, I say forget the screened-in porch, forget the deck, forget the pool; GET THE OUTDOOR SHOWER!

Just inside the door is a small changing area seperated from the shower by a partial wall.

I can’t tell you how wonderful it is on a warm (or not-so-warm) day after mowing the lawn, working in the garden or going for a run, to slip out of dirty clothes and into a rush of soothing water; all in the comfort and privacy of your back yard. No tracked dirt in the house, no trail of grass clippings from your shoes (or who-knows-what-all you might have stepped in) and no watery mess the dreaded “swamp monster” always leaves in your bathroom. Just the fresh air, clean water and you! Heaven!

The shower area is very spacious.

After gardening, I can't wait to get in this shower. Heaven on Earth!

Not at all. The structure took several days to build and the plumbing was completed in a day!!
